Sonoma Burgers

Thick and juicy burgers are glazed with steak sauce, topped with a sun-dried tomato, basil and pine-nut spread and fresh goat cheese, and served on a sourdough roll.

Step: 1

Preheat grill to medium heat. Shape meat into 6 (1/2-inch-thick) patties; set aside. Mix 6 tablespoons of the steak sauce, the tomatoes, basil and pine nuts; set aside.

Step: 2

Grill burgers 6 to 8 minutes on each side or until cooked through (160 degrees F), brushing occasionally with the remaining 2 tablespoons steak sauce.

Step: 3

Spread cut sides of rolls with cheese. Place 1 burger on bottom half of each roll. Top evenly with tomato mixture. Cover with tops of rolls

Step: 4

Balance this special-occasion sandwich with smart side dishes. For example, serve with a mixed green salad and fresh fruit.
